Kelly has done her homework, knows the issues, and as a retired police Lieutenant (22 years with City of Frederick Police Department) will bring her experience and knowledge to address the safety concerns of our citizens and police officers.
~ Alderwoman Marcia Hall, The City of Frederick
I support Kelly Russell for Alderman because of the unique combination of experience, skills and perspectives she would bring to the Board of Aldermen. Kelly’s career with the Frederick Police Department, working with thousands of Frederick residents, staff and elected officials, gives her in-depth knowledge and experience with issues important to Frederick; public safety, community service, human resources, volunteerism, and equal opportunity. Her commitment to the community extends to her service as a Neighborhood Advisory Council representative and member of the Zoning Board of Appeals, both roles giving her a track record of balancing neighborhood issues, listening and problem solving.
~ Meta Nash, former Alderman (1994-2002), The City of Frederick
Kelly Russell will be an exceptionally effective member of the Board of Aldermen. She knows the community and she understands the challenges-and opportunities-facing Frederick City. Kelly has a rare ability to analyze complex issues and develop strategies that both resolve the immediate problem and prevent similar situations that may arise in the future. She is smart, hardworking, highly committed, and fair. Please join me in electing Kelly Russell.
~ Don Hindman, Ph.D., educator and Frederick resident
Kelly has been a leader within our community on issues that are important to every neighborhood. Kelly will put her extensive professional and local community experience to good work on our behalf and she will ensure that every neighborhood is well represented in City Hall.

Kelly Russell, 49 (sic), a Democrat, is a retired Frederick Police Department officer who can relate to all kinds of people. She refers to herself as a natural collaborator and problem solver, traits that came in handy during her 22 years as an officer. She will be able to transfer those skills to maintain a good working relationship with county government.
